When vinyl tile floors are brand new, the first thing you want to be doing, before you ever even walk on them is to have "Anchor" scrub them clean with a slow rpm machine to remove the resins (similar to the sizing in new clothing) which result from the manufacturing process and stray bits of cement left from installation and properly treat them according to the manufacturer's recommendations. This initial cleaning and preparation will keep the floors nice and shiny for a quite a while. If this all important first cleaning and treatment is postponed for too long a period, moisture can seep under the tiles and begin to work at loosening individual tiles from the bonder. The results may be seen anywhere from nine months to two years later when tiles seemingly inexplicably "pop-up" by them selves especially in high traffic areas.	Old floors are something else again. Old floors sell a lot of new flooring jobs often long before a new floor may be really needed. When is it that old floors go from being "familiar" to being "boring?" No one really quite knows, but we think it has to do with the floor finish looking "tired" and being "only a shadow of its past glory." After all, when it was a new floor it must have been pretty spectacular. Trying to revive a floor's "luster days of yesteryear" is a waste of energy, time and money. If your floors are that far gone, we will not be shy about it. We will tell it to you straight; that the most that can be done would be to keep them clean.
